Definition：Aquatic Eutrophication occurs when excessive amounts of nutrients reach freshwater systems or oceans. Algae bloom may result and fish may disappear. Whereas phosphorous is mainly responsible for eutrophication in freshwater systems, nitrogen is mainly responsible for eutrophication in ocean water bodies.
